  • Summer crops - efficacy, safety and residue studies
  • Plant variety evaluation for winter and summer crop types
  • Agronomic field studies

A variety of equipment is available, including a range of sprayers, precision trial-plot seeders, harvesters and all the equipment necessary to conduct high quality studies that simulate most agricultural practices.

Cropping Capabilities

Australia offers a wide variety of crops, with Eurofins Agroscience Services Pty Ltd conducting trials on most crops across Australia, from arable crops to orchards, from vegetables and ornamentals to vineyards.

Narrabri offers the opportunity to conduct trials in summer and winter crops grown under dry-land and irrigated conditions. The soils are black or brown self-mulching clay loams.

The area immediately around Narrabri is extensively irrigated and in winter grows wheat, barley, chick peas and other winter cereals and legumes. In summer, cotton is the major crop however sorghum, maize, soybeans and sunflowers are significant crops, particularly in irrigated situations.

Geography and Climate

The area to the east of Narrabri is undulating but to the north and west is flat. Narrabri gets reliable early winter rain but in the summer generally has a dry and hot climate. The region however is subject to regular flooding from summer rain storms and low pressure systems that develop after cyclones from the north east.
