Upgraded our Genetic ID database to the latest Eurofins IDmyk Comparative Sequencing Index

Dr Arnaud Carlotti, Founder and President of Eurofins IDmyk, was in Australia recently to update our library of genetic sequences and to expand our capabilities within the area of microbial identification. He was in town to help us upgrade our Genetic ID database to the latest Eurofins IDmyk Comparative Sequencing Index.

During his visit, we were be able to organize an information sharing session on the 6th of October. Dr Carlotti presented to our clients who are interested in the developments and innovation within the area of microbial identification.

With the update to our database, all bacteria IDs of the 16s rRNA will now be based on the long sequence (1,200-1,400 base pairs). The double strand sequencing will be compared to the validated, proprietary Eurofins IDmyk database of 8,470 full gene sequences for valid bacterial type strains. This database is currently the largest in the world and is updated periodically.

The Eurofins IDmyk fungal database will be introduced shortly to complement the bacterial library.

Multilocus Comparative Sequencing and Strain Typing are also available within the Eurofins group.
