Eurofins Agroscience Services Pty Ltd has a number of bases across Australia with the York facility located in the wheat-belt region of Western Australia, about 90 km east of Perth.
Services
From the York facility we can conduct a range of different trials including:
- Agronomy field studies
- Plant variety evaluation studies for winter crop types
- Cropping efficacy, safety and residue studies
A variety of equipment is available, comprising precision trial plot seeders, sprayers and harvesters suitable for conducting studies for plant breeder clients and combinations of Agronomy and Cropping clients.
Agronomy Capabilities
Western Australia offers a range of non-irrigated winter/spring crops, including wheat, canola, barley, oats for feed and hay and grain legumes such as lupins.
Cropping Capabilities
Weed efficacy studies can be conducted on most winter grass and broadleaf weeds found in Mediterranean, temperate and sub-tropical climates around the world. The growing season in Western Australia is very consistent from year to year with regular rainfall and mild temperatures in the winter months.
Geography and Climate
The southern half of Western Australia has a true Mediterranean climate with mild wet winters and hot dry summers. The growing season is between May and September, with harvest from November to December.
